Kilconquhar Castle Estate, Kilconquhar (Fife)

My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The room I stayed in, Castle Suite 8, was spacious with a bath, but unfortunately not very soundproof. It was located in a dark corridor where I could hear the bistro staff working, which was a bit inconvenient. The hotel's location was good for exploring Fife but quite remote, so having your own rental car or bike is a must.

The hotel is set in a lovely estate and offers easy access to other villages in the area. It provides a peaceful retreat while being conveniently located for exploring local sights. However, the ground floor room with a small window and solid bed was disappointing for me.

The hotel felt like a home away from home, very cozy and even better than the pictures. The dining experience was nice, although having only one server was noticeable. The rooms were more pleasant compared to typical hotel dining rooms, with thoughtful amenities like an ironing board and hairdryer.

The hotel had a mixed experience. The rooms were a bit run down, without tea or coffee facilities, and had a tired look, especially the bathroom. On the positive side, the location was fantastic for exploring nearby historic cities, but noise from the kitchen was a downside. The dining was excellent, enhancing the overall stay.

I had a lovely stay at the hotel. The room in the castle itself was spacious and well-equipped with a huge comfortable bed, ensuite bathroom, and even tea and coffee facilities. However, it was a shame there wasn't any tea or coffee until we phoned reception. The cleanliness and comfort were top-notch, making for a cozy stay.
